Best battery saver

in Android Apps, Best Android Apps

Well, we all love the Xperia X8 …when is ON. Compared to the old dumb phone to Xperia X8, with huge bright touch screen just suck battery dry. Along with the nice big screen, the X8 can run apps in the background. With all the data constantly updating, your phone is even draining when the screen is OFF. It is not just open apps in the background eating away at your battery life but the widgets Android has that you can put on your home screen. They just keep updating.

Several apps for Android phones are available for download which could save the battery life on your Xperia X8 by turning off some features and apps which are eating the power of your Xperia X8.

The best one I found so far is called Juice Defender.
The Juice Defender lets you control your phone’s APN and WiFi. With the help of Juice Defender, you can set a timer on your Xperia X8 and when the timer expires, your phone will check for notification like tweets, e-mail, etc. In this way, your Xperia X8 would only use the data connection when the timer will expire and rest of the time it would stay disconnected from the internet to save juice, the power. You can cut off your internet connection throughout the time when you don’t need to have widgets constantly updating and greatly extend your X8 battery life.

The Juice Defender also shuts off your Wi-Fi and data connection when your X8‘s screen is off. Once you un-lock the phone the data connection is automatically turned on. But even if you don’t unlock your X8 for awhile it still syncs and get new tweets and email because it has scheduled on times. For example, your data connection will be turned back on every fifteen minutes for a total of three minutes to collect data then it shuts off again till either another fifteen minutes goes by or you turn the screen on.

And how do you save your battery? Do you use even better app for battery saving?

Do you have a question? Leave a comment.

Ya man, Advance task killer does the work plus battery indicator application is good too, keep your BT wifi. Background data and data traffic off always when not using internet as well as GPS etc…

And ya, decreased the brightness to 30% and use support application (by default in my phone) to tweak more features to save battery.

okay this is to finally confirm that after removing spotify from my phone ; (you won’t believe what I’m gonna say)

I charged it on this Friday @ 1400

and it’s Tuesday 0135 now

and my battery is exactly 28% (I use battery indicator app)

believe me it’s really happening, and ya I used wifi for 2 hours + surfing + 1 video song etc etc since Friday..

all I did was install Titanium backup (rooted phone here) and then remove few applications (stock) within them was spotify , now my phone works just like my w910 (in battery perspective)

after that I ran xrecovery then choose wipe battery status, and till tomorrow or the day after tomorrow when my battery totally drains , I will recharge it for atleast 12 hours continuously …. :D :)

Thanks to this websites and XDA + Android Forums for some tips, otherwise I woudn’t be able to do this..

Happy Xperia Life

Hi Haran,
If you have Android 2.2 or higher you can install apps to SD card using apps2SD.
If you have older Android, use this app for moving apps to SD. All you need to do is to gain root access and create second partition on your SD card.
