Android Apps

Well, we all love the Xperia X8 …when is ON. Compared to the old dumb phone to Xperia X8, with huge bright touch screen just suck battery dry. Along with the nice big screen, the X8 can run apps in the background. With all the data constantly updating, your phone is even draining when the screen is OFF. It is not just open apps in the background eating away at your battery life but the widgets Android has that you can put on your home screen. They just keep updating.

Several apps for Android phones are available for download which could save the battery life on your Xperia X8 by turning off some features and apps which are eating the power of your Xperia X8.

The best one I found so far is called Juice Defender.
The Juice Defender lets you control your phone’s APN and WiFi. With the help of Juice Defender, you can set a timer on your Xperia X8 and when the timer expires, your phone will check for notification like tweets, e-mail, etc. In this way, your Xperia X8 would only use the data connection when the timer will expire and rest of the time it would stay disconnected from the internet to save juice, the power. You can cut off your internet connection throughout the time when you don’t need to have widgets constantly updating and greatly extend your X8 battery life.

The Juice Defender also shuts off your Wi-Fi and data connection when your X8‘s screen is off. Once you un-lock the phone the data connection is automatically turned on. But even if you don’t unlock your X8 for awhile it still syncs and get new tweets and email because it has scheduled on times. For example, your data connection will be turned back on every fifteen minutes for a total of three minutes to collect data then it shuts off again till either another fifteen minutes goes by or you turn the screen on.

And how do you save your battery? Do you use even better app for battery saving?
