Meet the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 Black Edition
You’ve seen this brilliant and super cheap Android phone in white before, but apparently Sony Ericsson has a nice piano black version of the Xperia X8 out there waiting to be released, but we haven’t heard any official word on its release. A few official press shots have shown up – as well as a demo video from Russia – and that’s pretty much that because nothing else is different. I’ll bet that this variant will be ready in time for the holiday shopping season.

The Black edition is for sale at this moment only in Portugal from Vodafone but we all hope that Portugal is not the only the one country with Black Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. The whole world is waiting for X8 in black.

In that video from GSMarena, Black X8 had a “slide to unlock” screen, while the others must press Option key for unlock screen.
From Sony Ericsson Vietnam: the upgrade firmware 2.1 for X8 will release in the end of Nov.

Thanks for comment, Mercurry. I think, the “slide to unlock” will be possible with new firmware update. I thought with “nothing else different” like something new inside… more RAM, better camera in the black Xperia X8.

I have recorded a video in X8, Can any one tell me how to run it in my system, I cannot understand which format it is.
Download the VLC media player. Its free, open source and plays every file type I have tried including the X8′s video files, unlike Windows Media Player.

The format of recording is 3gp and the frame per second rate is 30. I hope you’ll enjoy the phone as we all do. Just before you buy: It’s NOT the best phone on the planet but is cool, and possible to change it completely. The X8 is entry level to Android phones and you should expect less from this cheap phone than from the best Xperia on the market.

Just use 3rd party application like dxtop or adw launcher from Android Market. Simply tap the Market icon and search for adw lancher.
